The Light of Vengeance

It is said that there is a curious image of the goddess Kannon carved into the rock of a certain stone lantern. No ordinary engraving, it is only visible to the trained eye. The image was supposedly etched into the rock by a once-mighty warrior after his clan was defeated in a great power struggle that shook the land. Burning with a fierce desire for vengeance and filled with the conviction that his clan would one day regain its former glory, the warrior is said to have carved the image while in prison using only his nails. Those who behold the lantern today may feel the strength of his uncommon resolve smoldering within its stony depths.
