Issen

The family of precisely timed finishing attacks: counter an incoming strike, continue through nearby targets, or finish a posture-broken enemy.

Core ideaIssen is not one move. Counter Issen answers an incoming attack, Chain Issen carries a successful finish into more targets, and Break Issen capitalizes on broken posture.

Counter Issen

Attack immediately before an enemy strike connects. Counter Issen applies a 1.65x soul-generation multiplier against regular enemies.

A parry is a defensive answer at impact. Counter Issen is an attack timed into the incoming strike.

Chain Issen

After an Issen lands, press attack again within the follow-up window. The system searches up to 15 units for another valid target, waits 0.7 seconds before the dash, and uses a dash speed of 30.

These frame values are relative to the hit event. They stay in frames because converting them to milliseconds would assume an evaluation rate the game does not state.

The current target caps are level 1: 2, level 2: 3, level 3: 4. Chain Issen uses the same 1.65x regular-enemy soul-generation multiplier as Counter Issen.

Break Issen

Pressure or defend until the enemy's posture breaks, then use the dedicated finisher while the target is valid. The initial search spans 20 horizontally and 3 vertically. Subsequent selection uses 15 horizontal and 3 vertical ranges, with a 2.8 run range.

See Posture for the player and enemy break values.
