Yasui Konpiragu Shrine

Yasui Konpiragu Shrine is said to have originated as a small Buddhist Hall in the 7th century, whereafter it gained a devoted following among those looking to rid themselves of bad luck, as well as those seeking to either bind their fate to a partner, or sever their connection with them. These are popular practices that continue to draw large crowds of worshippers to this day. The shrine also houses the spirit of Minamoto no Yorimasa, the master archer who once shot down a Nue that had appeared above the Imperial Palace. Additionally, the statues known as the Eight Stout Pillars are enshrined within the grounds.
