The Enigma of Sasaki Ganryu

Little is known about the warrior who went by the name Sasaki Ganryu. There are no reliable accounts of his life, with even details of his birth remaining obscure. He was known to have also used the name Sasaki Kojiro, with Ganryu thought to have been a nom de guerre, though this theory has not been proved conclusively. He remains a figure shrouded in mystery, though what is clear is that his fate was entwined with that of his fierce rival Miyamoto Musashi, their battles being the stuff of legend for many generations of Japanese.
