The Raid on Mount Oe: The Headstrong Oni

Having succeeded in lulling Shuten Doji into a stupor, Yorimitsu seized his chance and cut off the Oni chief's head. But even in its disembodied state, the head rose up to attack Yorimitsu. And though it momentarily appeared as if the Oni might devour the noble warrior with his fearsome fangs, it could not penetrate the divine helm that had been bestowed on Yorimitsu by the gods. Seeing that the Oni's head was reeling after its foiled attack, Yorimitsu pressed his advantage to finally best Shuten Doji.
