Lore

The mark of an Onimusha

The Oni Gauntlet is a mystical artifact bound to Miyamoto Musashi after his death and revival. It grants power beyond normal human limits, lets its bearer slay Genma, and absorbs the souls those creatures release. In the opening story, Musashi sees that bond as an insult to his own ability and searches for a way to remove it.

The gauntlet speaks to Musashi through the Oni Lady and reveals hidden objects through Oni Vision. It absorbs red, yellow, and blue souls to improve Musashi's skills, restore health, and fuel Oni attacks.

Sasaki Ganryu also wields an Oni Gauntlet. Their Kiyomizu-dera duel pits two swordsmen with the same source of power and very different attitudes toward it.
